Use a Cingular Phone on T Mobile

I’ll bet you’ve been eying some cool Cingular phone. But you love the service and coverage T Mobile provides. What to do, what to do?

Well, you can very easily use a Cingular phone on T Mobile. Here’s how. Buy a Cingular phone without a sim card. Ebay is ideal for this or simply click on any link on this site for an Unlocked Phone. Unlocked phones are either phones that are specifically designed for one service provider but sold independantly of a contract or are from some third party that just sells phones independant of a service provider. Unlocked phones are one of the coolest and best kept secrets in Cell Phone land.

So once you get your either unlocked phone or Cingular phone simply plug the T Mobile Sim Card into your Cingular phone. It fits! What a coincidence. Turn on the phone. Typically it will work. If not just call T Mobile and tell them what you’re doing. Don’t be scared. It’s perfectly OK and legal. They’ll walk you through whatever steps you need to do for your specific phone.

Now go buy an unlocked phone and have some fun!

  • One bill for your mp3 downloads and cell phone bills
  • iTunes access from anywhere in the world on your iPhone
  • Special deals and promotions for free iTunes downloads on your iPhone.
  • Being that much cooler than your friends.

CONS

  • Potentially forced to pay a premium for having an iPhone instead of having a iPod and Cell phone separately.
